I do love your Jormy.

I take this as a nod to you from WoW (without the financial implications of such a nod, presumably) to say they too read your blog and love Jormy so much they gave her more than a cameo in their game.

There is a WoW player (OxHorn) who makes WoW movies - he's not a Blizzard employee, just a guy - and he has a great one called Red Snapper (which probably won't make sense unless you played WoW right around the time of the expansion) and later they introduced a fishing quest that requires you to find Red Snapper and they make a nod to OxHorn in it. He probably wasn't compensated either. :(

But I still think its kinda cool recognition.

Correction, Tiamat first appeared in first edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. FFI ripped off TSR & Gary Gygax.

I thought of Jormy myself when I saw that. But I'd like to point out a few things to anyone who might not realize them.

1: Not a dragon. Giant subterranean worm and dragon are two very, very different things. Jormy can kick blue-worm's butt any day of the week.

2: They're giving the name to a species, not to one specific creature (i.e. "These are all ice worms but the biggest and baddest is Jormungar!"). In my eyes, at least, that's not so bad.

3: If you ignore the obvious mythological connotations, technically you could accuse Square of stealing the name Jormungand (along with Tiamat) from two of the Zerg broods in Starcraft. So really this is just Blizzard taking back what's theirs.

I'm not trying to dish on the joke because I did laugh, but I'm apparently enough of a Starcraft nerd to know that the Zerg broods had names like Jormungand, Tiamat, Araq, and Fenris, so I sort of look at this in a different light. When I first started reading this blog, Jormungand actually reminded me of the zerg. Now Jormy stands out on his own in my mind. Dave's humor has overcome my Starcraft nerdery and for that I salute him!

Lazerx, you don't need a server destroying kit to take out the WoW servers. Mannoroth at least goes down every Tues, Thurs, and whenever it feels lazy. Just send the copy boys coffee, they'll know how to screw up and drop it.

On a side note, history asks [GM]Dave to please send Blizzard an incendiary device. Last it checked, the world serpent was not an ice version of the creatures from Dune.

I've been following up on this blog for quite some time now and I have read all the posts made by both Dave and Susan.

This is my first time posting a comment and I do so because it seems that no-one quite understands the way Dave thinks.

Stop trying to comfort him, stop trying to change his outlook on this matter.

Now I could go on and on explaining why I say this; but honestly, it is not worth my time. I will just give a different example and point of view:
