Yeah. Hardest OOOld school game for me was Solaris on the Atari 2600. That freakin game was impossible. You could literally play for weeks non stop and never figure out what you could do next.

And to add to the misery, if the bad guys took over a sector of the map, it made you go all crazy and crap and literally made all actions you tried do exactly the opposite. It took me days to figure out all I had to do was turn the joystick upsidedown and I could control myself again.

But that didn't help me much against the freakin enemies that came after me. Those things were evil. Just....evil.

God I miss that game...

Oh, don't worry. It's not just you. We sort of collect consoles, and have a few classics (Atari 7200 (the 2600's power switch broke *sob*, NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, assorted Gameboys. Our wishlist includes a TurboGraffix, NeoGeo, and Sega Master System, if anyone knows of any for sale.)

Anyway, rambling aside, we both find the older games much harder than those on newer systems. Sometimes I find newer games, for all of the beautiful graphics and developed plot lines, disappointing because a lot of them aren't really challenging in that incredibly frustrating, "OMG Die Already You Stupid F-ing *insert enemy here*!!!" kind of way. Oh, how I love my classic games!

In that spirit, I'd also like to take this opportunity to curse GameStop for buying up and destroying all of the game stores that sold cartridges. Soulless bastards.
