Yyyyeah, old, high end, tough to get stuff that gets replaced with new, high end, easy to get stuff is always controversial. On the other hand, the people who got the old, tough to get stuff tend to forget - they had something that blew everything out of the water before "everyone" else, and reaped the benefits of said item while they had the chance. Bragging, rights, faster kills, tougher content before everyone else. That's really all the wanted to begin with, right?

This is so much like Thief's Knife (last year?), and every other time that an update takes an item or crafting material and radically changes its value. Remember PUPs whining about Wamoura cocoons when ToAU first came out? Or Angestones and Adaman ingots before the latest Gobbiebag quest came out? I saw someone whining about egg sales today... And I'm sure glad that I haven't even unlocked DRG yet, because I certainly plan to. Dragoon has been one of my favorite classes ever since I first played Final Fantasy 2 on my SNES. They could be the worst class in Vana'diel, leagues below the 2nd worst class, and I'd still play it.
