So back in the day when I worked tech support phones, there was a pre-blogger blog (now defunct, alas woe) that a bunch of people posted to daily because human stupidity hurts, and when you're working, you have to be nice. When you hang up the phone, you can spew about what a blithering moron that caller was. Anyway, every... single... day.... someone would reply to our collective cries of pain with something along the lines of "omg u ppl are so mean how can you say such things about your customers" and "if you hate it so much why don't you get a real job" or my favorite "well this stuff is funny but real people aren't that stupid."

Oh hell yes they are. I think anyone reading this far in the comments realizes that now.

Incidentally, Goblin Smithy and [GM]Dave are the same person/writing team, but they are not the same person/writing team as Simon Travaglia who writes the One and Only BOFH (http://www.theregister.co.uk/odds/bofh/).
